LGS has changed its focus from a pure game studio to simulation. The only real difference is that there is no scoring system in place for a simulation. As of April 2024 LGS is seeking the seed money to go into sim development full time, as opposed to the find time time around our day jobs.
We are currently developing our redefined plans. We will publish more as we set our goals and timelines.

Greetings Travellers,
I hope this blog finds you all well. I am a member of many of the Traveller FB groups, and had noticed that Traveller 5 updates have been released and shipped. This looks like a quality product and many of you who have received it seem very pleased. It is great to see that there is still a market and audience for Traveller.
I wanted to give you an update on some of things we have been working on as a group and touch on a few personal notes. This has been a very long process and some days it feels like we are still at the very beginning. We just passed 2 years since our first meeting at my dining room table, and much has happened since then.
As we have described in some blogs previous to this one, we are going to do a tech demo approach to Traveller MMORPG. This allows our small group to take baby steps while still showing how we want the game to operate like Classic Traveller. Our development page on this website does not accurately show this change, and this just shows that not every path we went down makes sense for the development stage of the project that we are in.
Our first tech demo is currently with Andrew, who is working on the music and sound effects for it. This is not at all a polished product, but we believe that it will give the fans a sense of Traveller and what we can commit to do. The rest of the group has been working on more items for tech demos #2 and #3. After #3- well, we need to have a brainstorming session on that one. Each tech demo will show a new skill or more information of the overall scope of the project. We are unsure about how many tech demos we will need to produce before we start a funding campaign, but are committed to seeing this process out.
Paul has been working on many aspects of the tech demos and how they should operate. He has also been throwing out some ideas for tech demo #4 and beyond and seeing what sticks. This is a rough draft process at the moment, but with the rest of the group we will continue to forge a path.
Mike has been working on some terrains and areas for the tech demos to take place on/in. He is very good with the lighting and other effects and has been incorporating them on things that we already have produced. When the time is right he will be looking again into modeling both within Blender and Unity and working on some even larger terrains.
Mark has been working on one of the most important parts of the tech demos- networking. He has been researching and implementing Forge into the tech demos. This will allow the multi-player aspect of the game to come to life. There are many minute details that go into the process, and hopefully he will have a blog for all of us to learn more about coming soon.
I myself have been working with the character again. It has been quite some time since I have been involved in Unity matters, but it has been a nice change of pace. Our hope is to have some minor features worked out before we can add some more animated movements that will be shown within the tech demos. I have also been working on keeping our Twitter updated (twitter.com/travellermmorpg) and uploading some videos to our YouTube (youtube.com/travellermmorpg). Everything on the YouTube is a work in progress, and I am also trying to get better at moving the camera in Unity to show a shot of anything we are working on.
Even though our Facebook page has been idled, I see that we still get post likes and new followers a few times a week. We cannot stress how much that matters to us. You have stuck with us for the last 1.5 years since we have been on Facebook and we really appreciate it. There will be a random question about MMORPGs on a Traveller page, and someone will be kind enough to link our information to them.
There is still a lot of work to go to have something for you, the fans. We would never ask for any type of funding until we have all of our ducks in a row and are ready to go. Right now, we are just 5 guys with full-time jobs who are doing their best to keep this project moving forward.
Please follow our Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube for updates. Our Twitter is the best place to see a recap of what we have been talking about a few times a week. We do have an Instagram account but are currently reviewing our strategy for it.
Thank you all, and see you next time!
